Smart Cloning Documents

In Docmiral, cloning allows you to create a new document by copying the structure and data from an existing document. This is useful whether you want to make a similar document in the same category (like creating a new CV based on another CV) or in a different category (such as generating an invoice from a client’s workout plan).

Note: The cloning feature is currently available exclusively through Tars, Docmiral’s intelligent assistant. You can initiate cloning by interacting with Tars in your workspace.

    How Cloning Works

When you clone a document, Docmiral generates a new document that inherits both the structure and the data of the original. You can then adjust the cloned document as needed, regardless of whether it belongs to the same directory or a different category. This flexibility lets you quickly adapt existing information for new purposes.

    Steps to Clone a Document

    • Locate the document you want to clone in your Docmiral dashboard.
    • Open Tars and request to clone the document.
    • Choose the target category or directory for the new document, if needed.
    • A new document will be created with the same structure and data as the original.
    • Edit the cloned document as required, then save it. It will appear as a separate document in your chosen location.

    Benefits of Cloning

Cloning documents in Docmiral provides several advantages:

    • Efficiency: Quickly generate new documents from existing ones, saving time on setup.
    • Consistency: Ensure uniform structure and data across documents, even in different categories.
    • Flexibility: Adapt documents for new purposes, whether in the same directory or across categories.

By leveraging the cloning feature in Docmiral, users can streamline their document creation process, enhance productivity, and ensure consistency across their work.
